‘Silencing The Inner Critic’

Sunday 22nd January

10am -1pm

Our inner critic can often prevent us from living the life we really want to live, and can be an unreliable source of negative feedback.

We can learn to recognise this inner critic as it operates in our life and relationships and discover through meditation how to let go of this painful habit.

Through reflecting with wisdom we can skilfully develop the inner qualities that build true self confidence and enable us to realise our full potential.

This course features –

  • A simple breathing meditation to relax and still the mind.
  • Helpful advice for daily living.
  • A guided meditation to increase our good qualities.
  • Refreshment breaks
  • An optional vegi/vegan lunch.

This Sunday morning class is led by Gillian Yorke.

Gillian studies on the Teacher Training Program in Preston and runs the weekly class in Wigan.

Her teachings are warm, practical, and easy to apply, and her guided meditations are clear and relaxing.

Class Teacher

Gillian has taught regularly in the Wigan and Preston area, including the ‘Learning To Like Yourself’ and ‘Using Ancient Wisdom To Help With Our Addictions’ courses.

She studies on the Teacher Training Program in Preston.

Her teachings are practical and the guided meditations are clear and relaxing.

Please watch and enjoy this short teaching video from a recent class.

By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enable us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstances.

Gradually we develop mental equilibrium, a balanced mind that is happy all the time, rather than an unbalanced mind that oscillates between the extremes of excitement and despondency.

If we train in meditation systematically, eventually we shall be able to eradicate from our mind the delusions that are the causes of all our problems and suffering.

In this way, we shall come to experience permanent inner peace.
