‘Self-Care: A Buddhist Guide To Well-Being’

This Sunday morning course features guidance and meditations based on Buddhist teachings that help us to look after our mental health.

It is held at the Kadampa Meditation Centre, which is at 38 West Cliff, Preston, PR1 8HU.

On this course, we will explore timeless Buddhist advice on the following:

  • How can we protect ourself from suffering and unhappiness, including exhaustion and burnout?
  • How can we develop and maintain a sense of wellbeing and happiness in life?
  • How can we take good care of ourself without becoming selfish or neglecting others?


Learning to care for ourself is not selfish as it’s the basis for helping others, and therefore we need to learn how to look after ourself and keep a happy mind.

There is an optional veggie/vegan lunch at 1pm when the sessions finish.

No experience is needed - this class is suitable for anyone.

Class Teacher

Gen Pagpa is an English Buddhist Monk and has been studying meditation for over 20 years.

He is an accomplished public speaker, and can explain Buddha’s teachings in a practical and interesting manner.

He has taught classes and retreats at Meditation Centres throughout the country.
