ABOUT THE CLASS
The retreat day is focused on the practice of the Heart Sutra.
This is Buddha’s famous teaching on emptiness – the way things actually exist - and contains the very essence of Buddha’s perfection of wisdom teachings.
Through studying, contemplating and meditating on the Heart Sutra we can gain a perfect understanding of the nature of reality; we can overcome hindrances and difficulties in our daily life; and we can overcome the obstacles preventing our full enlightenment.
A complete explanation of this Sutra can be found in the book ‘The New Heart of Wisdom’, and the prayer booklet ‘The Great Mother’, both of which will be used in this retreat.
This Sunday course has 4 sessions which are one hour long.
There is a veggie/vegan lunch provided in the middle of the day, as well refreshment breaks between the meditations.
Each session has a teaching at the beginning, prayers, and a guided meditation.
