‘Finding Happiness Through Wisdom’, Sunday 25th April, Internet Class

£10.00

Wisdom is the means to finding happiness and to reduce our suffering.   It’s our inner teacher, it balances our mind, and is our supreme guide. When we are discouraged, disappointed, or depressed, wisdom lifts our mind and makes us happy; and when we are over-excited or distracted, wisdom calms our mind and reduces our distractions. With wisdom our mind is always balanced and comfortable.

This course shows us how, and encourages us to, develop wisdom, explaining how we all have the potential to develop the greatest wisdom of all, that of an Enlightened Being.

The class is led by Nick Colledge. Nick has taught regularly in Lytham, and studies on the Foundation Program in Preston.

“Wisdom teaches us what to do and what not to do; it is like an inner Teacher that we carry in our hearts, and like a Protector that protects us from engaging in wrong actions and having to experience their unpleasant results.” – Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche

By training in meditation, we create an inner space and clarity that enable us to control our mind regardless of the external circumstances.

Gradually we develop mental equilibrium, a balanced mind that is happy all the time, rather than an unbalanced mind that oscillates between the extremes of excitement and despondency.

If we train in meditation systematically, eventually we shall be able to eradicate from our mind the delusions that are the causes of all our problems and suffering.

In this way, we shall come to experience permanent inner peace.
